From Leonardo on what this album is about.... “It’s a vast matter – if someone reads the title “Quick McLuhanian Guide for Transmigration”, he or she could think that it’s about the soul “jumping” from a body to other. I believe McLuhan had in mind that the message would become a fusion of perceptions caused by and brought by (mass) communication media. Is the media the message as well? Back to Pythagoras, he assured that he could remember all his transmigrations, but if he... ( 1 reviews ) Topics: experimental music, electronic, ambient, mcluhan
As well as last December we complete June 2012 with another Saito Koji-release. "Sleepy" is a single, one hour long track. His last releases "Guide" and "Again" based on the limited time-frame of three minutes and presented drone and ambient soundscapes in a really focused and condensed version. Listening to a one hour piece is the complete counterpart. The sounds within this track have the chance to evolve with every listen. Based on a simple looping guitar... A debut CD by an audiovisual project form Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. The guys from Submatukana experiment with acoustic instruments & urban devices and play with the late japanoise school, breakcore and industrial-drone. It is a pure authentic project, who aims to popularize domestic devises' noises aesthetics with classical electronic experiments over breakcore, drone, noise and 8bit music. CD envelope is folded from a newspaper page, 4-paged colour booklet is included. More info here:... ( 1 reviews ) Topics: IDM, noise, power electronics, turbinicarpus, submatukana
After a few listens I`m quite sure that Sha Ka Ree by Videosignal is one of the finest two trackers published on Oscilator. Man behind this name is Ensar Zgodic, also known as Greg Pavlov/Punkov, Yurockolonia, one of the Oscilator co-founders. This time he has prepared for you two definitive floor shakers, energetic and emotional. So take your time and listen to Ensar`s most clubby sounding tunes until today. ( 1 reviews ) Topic: Electro
"Two-Thousand Dollar Tuesday" is like going back to the house where you grew up after thirty years, finding it has been torn down and digging throught the rubble to discover broken, dusty bits of your memories. "Bluebeard" is like going back to the house where you grew up after thirty years and finding it haunted with the ghost of your abusive father who isn't very happy with seeing you again. A single, hopefully the precursor to an album. ( 1 reviews ) Topics: noise, abstract, experimental
Bacanal Intruder brings zymogen a bit far from its usual habits, but this joyful derailment is definitely a pleasure. A micro-ep with five little tracks and five little melodies sketched with guitars, harmonica, melodica and other strange instruments processed with computer over glitches and digital beats. Luis handles these sounds carefully creating different melodic patterns and, moving from different atmospheres, is able to give you a carefree smile with ironic and beautiful music. A... Simply titled "4th" - The aesthetics of the single sound, its destinctiveness and presence are more present than on its predecessor. But nonetheless, the sounds do not seem to be forlorn. Every track is its own microcosm of noise, click and motion. Always one leg on the dancefloor, the other in the lab, Emmerichk shows us his own definition of rhythm, groove and melody. unfoundsound presents five deep and heady cuts of abstract organic minimalism expertly designed to move a dancefloor. on nagoya gun shop ep, japan's so inagawa (of the suffragettes) offers stripped-down crowd-pleasers gently sprinkled with droning, playful found-sounds and bouncy, shuffling, poking rhythms. "this ep was recorded between april 1998 and december 2003 in Paris and Stockholm. what's presented here are traces and excerpts from a larger mass of recordings: seven sections which I decided to push toward something songlike. this release with autres directions provides a way to shed it, offering it the chance to be shed and spread, and to become something beyond my own thoughts." obadia (firstname.lastname@example.org ; www.clumsybeats.org) ( 1 reviews ) Topics: Downtempo, Hip Hop beats, collage Source: http://autresdirections.net/inmusic/

Live recordings from digital algorhythms. This is generative glitch that walks the far boarders of experimentalism, yet its content is so smooth and delicious. Meandering between the likes of Xenakis and Ikeda, this takes on a journey of its own. Clinicaut comes from the mind of the german Siegmar Fricke. He created a first lineal version which has been composed the track by using a complex range of electronic devices, and along with several samples had been sent to various artists for the creation of derivative works. The results were then used as a basis for composing these 6 tracks." Mysterious, ever-changing,... ( 1 reviews ) Topics: generative, soundscape, ambient, experimental

This is the fourth release (the third in bump side) by Mystified. Hypnotic beats came again. The key words for Tropical Depression are "drone" and "techno". Netlabel buccaneer Mystified has crafted a mid-length release comprised of punchy, catchy sample patterns laid over oscillating drones. Pieces are narcotic but not without pop value. Daniel Maze is a young composer from Canada, Vancouver. As he told me about himself, "I’ve been into music all my life". I bet he was! Friends of dark meditative ambient are in for another treat with this new co-creation from the Finnish ambient producer Doc and the Russian pianist Lena Selyanina. This album was inspired by Maurice Ravel's waltzes for the piano, and Lena's soulful and introspective piano takes quite naturally a prominent role on this material. As on their earlier releases (MT002 & MT004), the fundamental soundworld and atmosphere is that of deep, beatless, meditative ambient. From this calm and dark... Seven Spaces is definitely not a concept album - it rather resembles a kind of sample assortment, composed of tracks produced from 2002 to 2005. However, the selection process has been dominated by one central ambition: variety. Particularly in the "electronic dub" segment, LP releases are prone to become slightly tedious when listened to in their full length, due to the genre's inherent bias towards lengthy and monotonous tracks. In addition, the absence of vocals and traditional... ( 3 reviews ) Topic: thinner Source: http://www.thinner.cc

Sieve is back again with another incredible EP of dark moods and thoughts. 'Vacuum-Assisted' focuses a bit more on the overall texture of each track compared to the beat-heavy electronics of his previous Kikapu release, 'wave/particle.' But don't be fooled, there are still plenty of forceful, brooding rhythms scattered throughout this release, all with a foreboding, inexhaustible feeling to them. Yet this release cuts even deeper into your psyche as you listen, pushing you to the edge. ( 2 reviews )

there are different approaches to noise in electronic music. technically, noise is described as an equal amount of output in all present frequencies ('white noise') and sounds pretty boring. people tend to mix their original signals with fragments of noise to get a more individual, maybe more haptical sound; on the other hand, a lot of strictly experimental music uses noise as the main source of audio, shifted in frequency and amplitude, fed back to the machines or distorted and delayed. why do... As I live on a very busy streetcorner, and love the sounds of music and silence, I have wondered from time to time if it would be possible to take the world around me and to ask it to be a little more quiet.
